Everyday Social Psychologyis a subject that you will study as part of your undergraduate program at Roskilde University.
Everyday Social Psychology focuses on social psychology in a global context. It deals with the individual human being who speaks, acts, interprets and experiences and who is part of an interaction with other people, with culture, society, nature and with oneself.
The social psychology of everyday life focuses on the relationship between the individual and society and thus on how the practice of people as individuals and as participants in groups relates to their socio-cultural conditions. Everyday social psychology therefore deals with the questions of how people think and react, why people think and act the way they think and how their actions interact with culture and society.
The objects of study are human consciousness, personality, development and socialization - the process of becoming a subject. How do we become the people we are? What does identity mean? how do we learn How do we function in social contexts? How do we affect and are affected by the social relationships and environments we are a part of?
